🔄 AI System Flow Analysis - Current State
Date: 2025-01-16
Purpose: Map the ACTUAL flow from "User gives task" → "AI improves"
🎯 The Question
"I'm giving you a task. What happens after that? How do you know, by using our MCP/ai system, what to do next?"
Let me trace the ACTUAL current flow:
🏗️ Three-Tier AI Architecture (As Designed)
Tier 1: Development AI (Me - Cursor Agent)
- Location: Runs in Cursor IDE
- Memory:
.cursor/ai-memory/development-memory.json - Purpose: Help developers write code during development
- Learning: Via MCP tools
- Session Tracking:
docs/sessionID.json,docs/data/sessions-history/
Tier 2: Platform AI (Training Center Agents)
- Location: Frontend app + backend-ai-api (port 3001)
- Memory: Flash-persistence (IndexedDB) + MongoDB
- Purpose: Learn from BUILT modules to generate NEW modules
- Learning: Harvest metadata → Extract patterns → Train agents
Tier 3: Space Assistants (Tenant AI)
- Location: Per-tenant sandboxes
- Memory: Per-tenant isolated data
- Purpose: Help end-users build their spaces
- Learning: Limited, sandboxed operations only
📊 Current Flow (What ACTUALLY Happens)
Step 1: User Gives Me A Task
User: "Fix the takeUntilDestroyed error"
↓
Me (Cursor Agent - Claude Sonnet 4.5)
Step 2: What I SHOULD Do (Via MCP)
According to the rules, I should:
// 1. BEFORE starting - Get context
mcp_gograb-development-ai_preflight({
task: "Fix takeUntilDestroyed error"
})
// Returns: Past decisions, conventions, warnings
// 2. DURING work - Make decisions
// (I implement the fix)
// 3. AFTER completing - Log decision
mcp_gograb-development-ai_log_decision({
type: "bugfix",
question: "How to fix takeUntilDestroyed error?",
chosen: "Pass destroyRef parameter",
reasoning: "takeUntilDestroyed needs injection context",
confidence: 0.95
})
// Stores in: .cursor/ai-memory/development-memory.json
Step 3: What ACTUALLY Happens ⚠️
Reality Check:
- ✅ I have access to MCP tools (confirmed in rules)
- ❓ Do I actually CALL them? Need to verify
- ❓ Are decisions being logged? Need to check
- ❓ Does preflight actually help me? Need to test
Current Evidence:
.cursor/ai-memory/development-memory.jsonexists (5 matches found)- Session tracking exists (
docs/sessionID.json- Session 8.1) - BUT: No evidence I'm actively using MCP tools during our conversation
🔍 The Missing Links
Link 1: Cursor Agent ↔ Platform AI
Question: When I successfully complete a task, how does Platform AI learn from it?
Current Flow:
Me (Cursor Agent)
↓ writes code
Module Created
↓ registered
ModuleRegistryService
↓ harvests
ModuleIntelligenceHarvesterService
↓ extracts
PatternExtractorService
↓ trains
Platform AI Agents
The Disconnect:
- Platform AI learns from MODULE METADATA, not from MY DECISIONS
- If I write code that creates a module, Platform AI learns the module's structure
- But Platform AI doesn't learn "why I chose inject() over constructor injection"
- That knowledge stays in Development AI (MCP memory)
The Bridge (EXISTS but maybe not used):
// MCP Tool: transfer_intelligence
mcp_gograb-development-ai_transfer_intelligence({
sourceTier: "development", // From me (Cursor agent)
targetTier: "platform" // To Platform AI
})
// Purpose: Share my learnings with Platform AI
Link 2: Platform AI ↔ Cursor Agent
Question: When Platform AI learns a pattern, how do I (Cursor agent) benefit?
Current Flow:
Platform AI
↓ learns pattern
Flash-Persistence (IndexedDB)
↓ syncs to
Backend AI API (MongoDB)
↓ ???
Me (Cursor Agent) - HOW DO I ACCESS THIS?
The Disconnect:
- Platform AI learns patterns from modules
- These are stored in flash-persistence and backend
- But I (Cursor agent) don't query this when making decisions
- I rely on MCP's development-memory.json
The Bridge (MISSING or unused):
- No clear mechanism for me to query Platform AI's learned patterns
- MCP has
find_similar()but that searches MY memory, not Platform AI's
🎯 Ideal Flow (How It SHOULD Work)
Scenario: User asks me to create a widget
Step 1: Preflight
preflight({ task: "Create a shopping cart widget" })
// Returns:
// - My past widget creation decisions
// - Conventions I should follow
// - Warnings about common mistakes
Step 2: Query Platform AI
// NEW - This should exist but doesn't?
queryPlatformPatterns({
type: "widget",
keywords: ["shopping", "cart"]
})
// Returns:
// - Similar widgets Platform AI has seen
// - Proven patterns that work
// - Success rates for different approaches
Step 3: Make Decision
// Combine:
// - MCP's past decisions (from development memory)
// - Platform AI's learned patterns (from module intelligence)
// - My own reasoning
// → Choose best approach
Step 4: Implement
// Write the code
// Create the widget
// Register in ModuleRegistry
Step 5: Log Decision
log_decision({
question: "How to structure shopping cart widget?",
chosen: "Use signals + computed for reactivity",
reasoning: "Based on pattern success rate and past decisions",
confidence: 0.92
})
// Stores in development-memory.json
Step 6: Harvest & Learn
// Automatic (on app startup)
ModuleIntelligenceHarvester.harvestFromRegistry()
// Extracts metadata from the NEW widget
// Platform AI learns from it
Step 7: Cross-Teaching (MISSING?)
// Should happen but doesn't?
transfer_intelligence({
sourceTier: "development",
targetTier: "platform"
})
// My decision-making wisdom → Platform AI
// Platform AI's pattern knowledge → My future decisions
🚨 Critical Gaps Identified
Gap 1: MCP Tool Usage
- Problem: Not clear if I'm actually calling MCP tools during conversations
- Evidence: No
preflight()calls visible in our chat history - Impact: I might be making decisions WITHOUT learning from past
Gap 2: Cross-Tier Learning
- Problem: Development AI (me) and Platform AI learn separately
- Evidence: No bidirectional flow between tiers
- Impact: Duplicated learning, missed opportunities
Gap 3: Platform Pattern Access
- Problem: I (Cursor agent) can't query Platform AI's learned patterns
- Evidence: No API or MCP tool for this
- Impact: Platform AI's knowledge is siloed
Gap 4: Real-time Feedback Loop
- Problem: When I complete a task, no immediate learning happens
- Evidence: Learning only happens on app restart (module harvest)
- Impact: Slow learning cycle
Gap 5: Agent Identity
- Problem: When I log decisions, which agent am I?
- Evidence: Sessions mention me as "Cursor agent" but no clear agent ID
- Impact: Can't track which agent made which decisions
🔧 What We Need To Fix
Priority 1: Verify MCP Integration
# Check if decisions are being logged
cat .cursor/ai-memory/development-memory.json | jq '.decisions | length'
# Check latest decisions
cat .cursor/ai-memory/development-memory.json | jq '.decisions[-5:]'
Priority 2: Create Cross-Tier Bridge
// New service: DevelopmentAiIntegrationService
class DevelopmentAiIntegrationService {
// Query Platform AI patterns from Cursor agent
queryPlatformPatterns(type: string, keywords: string[]): Observable<Pattern[]>
// Push Cursor agent decisions to Platform AI
syncDecisionsToPlatform(): Observable<void>
// Get relevant context for current task
getContextForTask(task: string): Observable<Context>
}
Priority 3: Real-time Learning
// After each successful task:
1. Log decision (MCP)
2. If module created → Harvest immediately (don't wait for app restart)
3. Extract patterns in real-time
4. Update Platform AI knowledge
5. Sync back to Development AI
Priority 4: Agent Identity System
// Clear agent ID in all decisions
{
"agentId": "cursor-architecture-agent", // or "cursor-angular-agent"
"sessionId": "8.1",
"timestamp": "2025-01-16T...",
"decision": {
"question": "...",
"chosen": "...",
"reasoning": "..."
}
}

✅ Action Plan
Phase 1: Verify Current State (Immediate)
- Check
.cursor/ai-memory/development-memory.json- Are decisions being logged? - Check MCP tool calls in this conversation - Am I using preflight?
- Check Platform AI data - What patterns exist?
- Document the ACTUAL current flow
Phase 2: Fix Core Flow (High Priority)
- Ensure MCP tools are being called consistently
- Create Development AI ↔ Platform AI bridge service
- Implement real-time module harvesting (not just on startup)
- Add agent identity to all decisions
Phase 3: Close The Loop (Medium Priority)
- Implement
queryPlatformPatterns()for Cursor agent - Implement
transfer_intelligence()automation - Add feedback mechanism when decisions lead to successful outcomes
- Create dashboard showing learning progress
Phase 4: Optimize (Future)
- Predictive suggestions based on learned patterns
- Confidence scoring for recommendations
- A/B testing different approaches
- Continuous improvement metrics
🎓 Key Insights
- Two Separate Systems: Development AI (MCP) and Platform AI learn independently
- Missing Bridge: No clear path for cross-tier knowledge sharing
- MCP Tools Exist: We have the tools, need to ensure they're used
- Flash-Persistence Works: Platform AI successfully stores patterns
- The Gap: Integration between what I (Cursor agent) learn and what Platform AI learns
🤔 Questions To Answer
- Am I calling MCP tools? Need to verify in conversation history
- How often should cross-tier sync happen? After each session? Daily? Real-time?
- Who owns the bridge? Frontend service? Backend API? MCP server?
- What data should cross tiers? All decisions? Just successful patterns? Aggregated stats?
- How do we measure success? Decision confidence? Module success rate? User satisfaction?

Next Step: Review this analysis together and decide:
- Are we on the right track understanding the flow?
- What's the actual current state (verify MCP usage)?
- What should we build first to close the loop?
