🔍 Routing Diagnosis - What's Actually Happening

Date: October 28, 2025
Time: 11:45 PM
Status: 🔧 ACTIVE DEBUGGING

✅ What I've Fixed So Far

1. Template Syntax Errors (FIXED)

2. Added CSS for Main Content Area

3. Added Debug Marker

🧪 PLEASE CHECK AND REPORT BACK

1. Navigate to this URL with space slug:

http://localhost:5200/test-space/modularity

2. Do you see:

3. Open Browser DevTools (F12)

A. Check Console Tab

Look for these messages:

🧩 Module System Initialized
🚀 Dynamic Route Registration Complete
Module routes registered
  modulesWithRoutes: 6

Question: Do you see all these messages?

B. Check Elements Tab

  1. Find the <main class="main-content"> element
  2. Look inside it for <router-outlet>
  3. Is there anything AFTER the <router-outlet> tag?

What you should see:

<main class="main-content">
  <div style="...">Router Outlet Active</div>
  <router-outlet></router-outlet>
  <!-- There should be component content here! -->
  <lib-modularity-dashboard>
    <div class="modularity-dashboard">
      ...content...
    </div>
  </lib-modularity-dashboard>
</main>

Question: What do you actually see?

C. Check Network Tab

  1. Clear it (trash icon)
  2. Refresh the page
  3. Look for requests to load components:
    • .component.ts files
    • Any 404 errors?

Question: Are there any failed network requests?

🐛 Possible Issues & What They Mean

Issue A: Red label shows, but no content after router-outlet

Means: Router-outlet is rendering but component isn't loading
Likely Cause: Dynamic import path is wrong OR component has rendering error

Issue B: No red label at all

Means: App-shell isn't rendering
Likely Cause: Routes aren't matching properly

Issue C: Content shows but looks broken

Means: Component is loading but CSS or dependencies missing
Likely Cause: Missing imports or CSS not loading

Issue D: Console shows errors

Means: Component or module has errors
Need: Send me the error messages

🔍 Manual Router Check

In Browser Console, Run This:

// Get Angular app
const app = document.querySelector('app-root');
if (app) {
  const injector = window.ng?.getInjector(app);
  const router = injector?.get('Router');

  if (router) {
    console.log('=== CURRENT ROUTE CONFIG ===');

    // Find AppShell route
    const appShell = router.config.find(r => r.path === ':spaceSlug');

    if (appShell && appShell.children) {
      console.log('AppShell Children Routes:');
      appShell.children.forEach(r => {
        console.log(`  - ${r.path || '(empty)'}`);
      });

      // Check for modularity
      const modRoute = appShell.children.find(r => r.path === 'modularity');
      if (modRoute) {
        console.log('\n✅ Modularity route found!');
        console.log('  loadComponent:', modRoute.loadComponent ? 'YES' : 'NO');
        console.log('  component:', modRoute.component || 'none');
      } else {
        console.log('\n❌ Modularity route NOT found in children!');
      }
    } else {
      console.log('❌ AppShell route not found or has no children!');
    }
  } else {
    console.log('❌ Could not get Router');
  }
} else {
  console.log('❌ Could not find app-root');
}

Question: What does this script output?

📊 Expected vs Actual

Expected Behavior

  1. Navigate to /test-space/modularity
  2. See red "Router Outlet Active" label ✅
  3. See Modularity Dashboard with:
    • Header "Modularity"
    • "New Module" button
    • Search box
    • Grid/list of modules

Actual Behavior (from your screenshots)

  1. Navigate to /modularity (wrong URL!)
  2. See layout (header/sidebar) ✅
  3. See empty white content area ❌
  4. No error messages in console ✅

🎯 Next Steps Based on Your Answers

If you see the red label:

→ Problem is with component loading
→ I'll fix the loadComponent paths

If you don't see the red label:

→ Problem is with route matching
→ I'll fix the route registration

If you see content but it's wrong:

→ Problem is with component rendering
→ I'll fix the component itself

Please report back with:

  1. Screenshot of /test-space/modularity (with correct URL!)
  2. Console output from the manual router check script
  3. What you see in Elements tab inside <main>
  4. Any error messages in console

This will tell me exactly where the problem is!
