Routing Fixes - Space-First Architecture (COMPLETE)

🎯 Root Cause

The application was using hardcoded routes WITHOUT the space slug, leading to:

  1. ❌ Sidebar links navigating to /modularity instead of /test-space/modularity
  2. ❌ Header logo navigating to /dashboard instead of /test-space/dashboard
  3. ❌ Programmatic navigation missing space slug in router.navigate() calls
  4. ❌ Login redirects not including space slug

Result: Routes would partially work (showing layout) but content would be blank because the route didn't match the configured space-first pattern.

🔧 Issues Fixed

1. Sidebar Navigation (CRITICAL FIX)

Problem:

Problem:

Solution: Created centralized SpaceNavigationService for space-aware navigation.

    • To: this.spaceNav.navigateToDashboard()
    • Changed: this.router.navigate(['/space-map', slug])
    • To: this.spaceNav.navigateToSpaceMap(slug)

  3. Universe Creation Wizard:

    • apps/gograb-space/src/app/features/universe-creation/universe-creation-wizard.component.ts
    • Changed: await this.router.navigate(['/space-map', slug])
    • To: await this.spaceNav.navigateToSpaceMap(slug)
    • Changed: this.router.navigate(['/dashboard'])
    • To: this.spaceNav.navigateToDashboard()

4. Login Redirect to Invalid Route

Problem:

After login → redirected to /dashboard
But routes require → /:spaceSlug/dashboard
Result → 404 / redirect loop

Fix: Updated login component defaults to use space-first routing:

🎯 How Space-First Routing Works

Route Guards

  1. authGuard - Checks if user is authenticated
  2. spaceGuard - Validates space slug and sets space context
  3. spaceResolver - Fetches space data before route loads

Flow

User navigates to: /test-space/dashboard
                   ↓
1. authGuard checks authentication
   → If not authenticated → /auth/login?returnUrl=/test-space/dashboard
   → If authenticated → Continue
                   ↓
2. spaceGuard validates space
   → Checks if "test-space" exists
   → Sets space context (spaceId, spaceSlug)
   → If invalid → /landing
                   ↓
3. spaceResolver fetches space data
   → Loads space metadata
   → Provides to route component
                   ↓
4. Component renders with space context ✅

🐛 Common Issues

Issue: "Cannot match any routes for URL: /dashboard"

Cause: Missing space slug in URL
Fix: Use /test-space/dashboard instead of /dashboard

Issue: Redirect loop after login

Cause: Login redirects to invalid route
Fix: Ensure redirectAfterLogin includes space slug

Issue: Auth guard redirects even when logged in

Cause: Auth state not restored before guard runs
Fix: Already fixed with synchronous localStorage restore
