Test Report: Module Generation modgen-a3e90163 (Post S138.20 Fixes)

Session: S138.20 | Date: 2026-02-24 Template: Fitness Studio (5 modules) | Gen ID: modgen-a3e90163 Elapsed: ~18 minutes | Backend: Stable (no crash, no OOM)

Executive Summary

Result: PARTIAL IMPROVEMENT — normalizeFilePath() is working for LLM-extracted modules, but 2/5 modules still fell back to scaffold garbage.

The S138.20 fixes successfully normalized file paths to src/lib/ for modules where LLM extraction succeeded (member-management, trainer-management, attendance-tracking). However, 2 out of 5 modules (booking-system, class-management) still contain only scaffold output with of(null) services and duplicate fields. The HTML/SCSS auto-generation (generateMissingTemplateFiles()) did NOT fire — zero .html and .scss files were generated. Three of the six auto-correction methods also did not fire.

Definition of Done: Pass/Fail Matrix

# Criterion Result Notes
1 EXECUTE.output.files populated (not null) FAIL ❌ Frontend still shows "0 files" throughout
2 Model files: zero duplicate fields, proper types PARTIAL LLM modules pass ✅ (member, trainer, attendance). Scaffold modules fail ❌ (booking: id: string; id: string;, class: same)
3 Service files: real HttpClient, no of(null) PARTIAL LLM modules pass ✅ (member.repository, trainer.repository use HttpClient). Scaffold modules fail ❌ (booking-system.service.ts, class-management.service.ts: 100% of(null))
4 Components: OnPush enum, inject(), Signals PARTIAL inject() ✅, signal() ✅, standalone ✅. But changeDetection: 0 still numeric ❌ (fixChangeDetectionNumeric() did NOT fire). No takeUntilDestroyed ❌ (addMissingTakeUntilDestroyed() did NOT fire)
5 No @angular/material imports PASS ✅ None found
6 HTML templates exist for all components FAIL ❌ ZERO .html/.scss files generated. generateMissingTemplateFiles() did NOT fire
7 Scaffold fallback quality FAIL ❌ booking-system and class-management still identical garbage
8 Backend survives without crashing PASS ✅ Stable ~18 min run
9 Files at canonical src/lib/ paths PASS ✅ All LLM files correctly at src/lib/models/, src/lib/services/, etc.
10 No duplicate file structures PASS ✅ No root-level models/services/components dirs coexisting with src/lib
11 Route identifiers have no spaces FAIL ❌ Attendance TrackingRoutes, Member ManagementRoutes, Trainer ManagementRoutes — fixRouteIdentifierSpaces() did NOT fire

Overall Score: 4/11 PASS, 3/11 PARTIAL, 4/11 FAIL

Detailed Findings

Finding 1: normalizeFilePath() Working ✅

The path normalization is correctly placing LLM files at canonical src/lib/ paths. Member-management shows the clean structure:

modules/member-management/
├── src/lib/
│   ├── models/
│   │   ├── index.ts
│   │   └── member.model.ts         ← Proper types, union type, DTOs
│   ├── services/
│   │   ├── index.ts
│   │   └── member.repository.ts    ← Real HttpClient, inject(), typed
│   ├── components/
│   │   └── member-list/
│   │       └── member-list.component.ts  ← inject(), signal(), standalone
│   └── member-management.routes.ts

No dual-file problem. No root-level directories coexisting with src/.

Finding 2: cleanModuleDirectory() Partially Working ⚠️

For modules where LLM extraction succeeded, the old scaffold files were cleaned. For booking-system and class-management, no LLM files were extracted, so cleanModuleDirectory() never ran (it only runs when there are LLM files to write). These modules retain pure scaffold garbage:

Finding 3: ALL 6 Auto-Correction Methods Did Not Fire ❌

None of the new auto-correction methods from S138.20 produced any observable effect:

Method Expected Effect Observed
generateMissingTemplateFiles() Create .html/.scss for components 0 files generated ❌
fixChangeDetectionNumeric() 0 → ChangeDetectionStrategy.OnPush Still changeDetection: 0 in all 3 components ❌
fixRouteIdentifierSpaces() Attendance TrackingRoutes → AttendanceTrackingRoutes Still has spaces in ALL 3 route files ❌
addMissingTakeUntilDestroyed() Add pipe + destroyRef to subscribes No takeUntilDestroyed in any component ❌
fixPatchToPut() .patch< → .put< Still .patch< in member.repository and trainer.repository ❌
fixPluralizations() Triple-s fix N/A (no fitnessclasss in this gen since class-scheduling is the module name) —

Root cause hypothesis: The auto-correction service methods exist in the code but are likely not being called in the execution pipeline. The wiring between execute.phase.ts → auto-correction.service.ts may be missing or the methods are called on the wrong data (e.g., on the raw LLM string before extraction, rather than on the extracted file contents).

Finding 4: LLM Code Quality (Where Extraction Succeeded)

member-management — Excellent quality:

trainer-management — Excellent quality (same pattern as member-management):

attendance-tracking — Minimal but correct:

Finding 5: Module Naming Mismatch

The UI showed 5 modules: member-management, trainer-management, class-scheduling, booking-system, attendance-tracking.

On disk, "class-scheduling" mapped to class-management/ directory (pre-existing from scaffold). The LLM extraction for this module seems to have failed — only scaffold files remain. No class-scheduling/ directory was created.

What Worked (Wins from S138.20)

  1. normalizeFilePath() correctly places all LLM files at src/lib/ canonical paths
  2. No dual-file coexistence — the root-level models/services/components dirs are gone
  3. cleanModuleDirectory() successfully removes old scaffold when LLM files exist
  4. ensureModuleStructuralFiles() creates project.json and src/index.ts for modules that need them
  5. LLM code quality remains high — proper types, inject(), HttpClient, signals

What Did NOT Work

  1. Auto-correction service is not being invoked — all 6 methods have zero observable effect
  2. 2/5 modules still fell back to scaffold — booking-system and class-management
  3. Frontend file counter still shows 0 — EXECUTE.output.files not persisted
  4. Page freeze (Bug 10) — still present after generation completes

Recommended Next Steps (Priority Order)

P0: Wire Auto-Correction Into Pipeline

The 6 auto-correction methods exist but aren't being called. Check execute.phase.ts to verify:

  1. auto-correction.service.ts is imported and injected
  2. The correction methods are called AFTER file content extraction, BEFORE writing to disk
  3. Each method receives the file content as a string and returns the corrected string
  4. Add console.log to each method to verify they're being reached

P0: Fix Scaffold Fallback for Failed LLM Extractions

When LLM extraction fails for a module (booking-system, class-management), the scaffold is the only output. Either:

P1: Persist EXECUTE.output.files to MongoDB

The frontend counter still shows 0 files. The files array needs to be populated in the checkpoint.

P2: Investigate class-scheduling → class-management Mapping

The UI module name "class-scheduling" was mapped to the existing "class-management" directory, but LLM extraction failed for it. This suggests the module name in the LLM response didn't match what the file-writing code expected.

Complete File Inventory

member-management (7 NEW LLM files) ✅

trainer-management (8 files: 6 NEW LLM + project.json + src/index.ts) ✅

attendance-tracking (3 NEW LLM files) ⚠️

booking-system (5 OLD scaffold files) ❌

class-management (5 OLD scaffold files) ❌

Bug 10 Confirmation

The Vibe page became unresponsive after generation completed (~18 min mark). Screenshot and JS execution both timeout. This bug persists from previous tests.
