Vitto AI - Progress Report: Sessions 207-208
What is Vitto?
Vitto is GoGrab's AI assistant -- a super-agent that helps users and developers 24/7. Unlike other AI tools (ChatGPT, Devin, Manus), Vitto remembers each user personally, learns from every interaction, and can be customized per person.
Timeline
Session 207 (Previous)
- Fixed bulk delete handling for template IDs
- Built VFS-to-GitLab commit flow for studio editing
- Created reusable CRUD templates with composable patterns
Session 208 (Current) -- "Vitto Metacognition & App Reorganization"
What We Did
1. Cleaned Up Old Code (~20,000 lines removed) Over time, as Vitto evolved from a simple chat assistant to a full super-agent, old code accumulated -- libraries that were replaced, features that were consolidated but never cleaned up. We audited all 29 AI libraries and:
- Removed 10 dead library directories that no code was using
- Cleaned up configuration files pointing to non-existent code
- This makes the codebase faster to build, easier to navigate, and less confusing for developers
2. Reorganized the Application Navigation The old layout had a single "Monitor" page with 9 mixed tabs -- developers, finance people, and admins all shared the same confusing screen.
Before: Home | Monitor (9 tabs) | Vitto After: Home | Operations | Command | Vitto
- Operations -- For developers and engineers: system health, agents, sandbox, failure analysis
- Command -- For admins and executives: approvals, security audit, trust levels, costs, plus the Mission Control center (real-time AI activity dashboard)
- Vitto -- For everyone: everything about Vitto's mind, identity, capabilities, and settings
3. Restructured Vitto's Sidebar The Vitto section had 4 groups with items in confusing places (communication channels were listed under "Brain", diary was under "Soul"). Now organized into 6 logical groups:
- Mind -- Memory, knowledge graph, thought traces, conscience, diary, dossier
- Identity -- Character, core values, trust, identity
- Capabilities -- Skills, workflows, computer use, sub-agents, job mastery
- Connections -- Channels, webhooks, schedules
- Developer -- System prompt, debug, events, introspection, intelligence (admin-only)
- Settings -- Config, templates, digest, services, queue
4. Built "Conscience" -- See What Vitto Thinks About You
A new real-time view at /vitto/conscience where users can see Vitto's inner monologue about them specifically:
- "Loading Paco's profile... he prefers concise answers"
- "Selecting 'Angular Migration' skill (92% success rate) -- matches Paco's tech stack"
- "Trust level: 93% -- auto-approving this action"
This helps users understand why Vitto makes certain decisions and builds trust.
5. Built "Introspection" -- Admin God-View of All Activity
A new admin-only view at /vitto/introspection showing everything Vitto is doing across all users:
- "Pedro sent a WhatsApp message. Switching to Spanish based on his profile."
- "Cost alert: spending $0.12/hr, 2.3x average"
- "3 tasks queued. Prioritizing Pedro's urgent request"
This gives executives and administrators full visibility into Vitto's operations.
6. Brought the Command Center to the Main App
An AI Mission Control dashboard that was built earlier but stuck in a developer-only app. Now accessible to admins in the main app at /command/mission -- showing real-time task progress, agent activity, decision workflows, and code previews.
What We Discovered Needs Work (for Session 209)
- Command Center shows "OFFLINE" -- configuration issue, not a code problem. The WebSocket URL needs to point to the correct backend server.
- Agent training is fake -- The "Train" button on platform agents runs mock code. No actual model training happens yet.
- Agent success rates show "0%" -- Values are hardcoded in the UI, not fetched from the actual database.
- Sub-agents can't run tasks independently -- They have definitions and knowledge, but Vitto still delegates all work through the handoff system. Sub-agents need to be able to execute tasks directly.
Impact
- For Users: Cleaner navigation, can now see what Vitto thinks about them in real-time
- For Admins: Dedicated Command section with Mission Control, full visibility via Introspection
- For Developers: 20K lines of dead code removed, clearer architecture, easier to find things
- For the Product: Foundation for Vitto Intelligence v2 (skills closed loop, proactive intelligence, cost controls)
What's Next (Session 209)
- Fix Command Center connection (should be quick -- config change)
- Replace hardcoded agent metrics with real database values
- Replace mock training pipeline with actual training (or few-shot learning)
- Enable sub-agents to run tasks independently
- Migrate useful visualization pages (Memory Map, Intelligence Pyramid, Agent Mesh) from the dev app to the main app
- Verify conscience and introspection views work end-to-end with live data
The Bigger Picture
Sessions 207-208 are part of a larger initiative to make Vitto the most capable AI assistant in the market. The Intelligence v2 spec (designed in Session 208) covers:
- Skills Closed Loop -- Vitto learns from successes AND failures, building a library of proven approaches
- Proactive Intelligence -- Vitto reaches out to users when it detects issues (cost spikes, failed builds, quality drops)
- Dossier Enhancement -- Vitto knows each user better over time, personalizing every interaction
- Golden Path Tests -- Automated tests ensuring Vitto's quality never regresses
- Cost Controls -- Per-feature budget enforcement so AI spending stays predictable
The metacognition work (conscience + introspection) is the foundation -- you can't improve what you can't observe.
