🐛 Critical Fixes Applied

1. Router Integration Bug

Problem: All tabs showed the same content (Skill Studio visible in every tab)

Root Cause: <router-outlet /> was placed inside each <ux-tab>, creating duplicate outlets.

Solution:

<!-- ❌ WRONG -->
<ux-tabs [routeIntegration]="true">
  <ux-tab routeLink="chat">
    <router-outlet /> <!-- Each tab had its own outlet -->
  </ux-tab>
</ux-tabs>

<!-- ✅ CORRECT -->
<ux-tabs [routeIntegration]="true">
  <ux-tab routeLink="chat"></ux-tab>
</ux-tabs>
<div class="content">
  <router-outlet /> <!-- Single outlet for all routes -->
</div>

Files Fixed:

2. Empty Space Issue

Problem: 200px empty space between tabs and content

Root Cause: .ux-tab-content always rendered with min-height: 200px, even when using router integration.

Solution:

<!-- Only render tab content area when NOT using router -->
@if (!routeIntegration) {
  <div class="ux-tab-content">
    <!-- Tab panels -->
  </div>
}

File Fixed:

🎓 Key Learnings for Future AI Agents

When Implementing Tabs

  1. ALWAYS use ux-tabs component - never create manual tab styling
  2. Choose appropriate variant:
    • Level 1 (Primary): variant="floating" level="1"
    • Level 2 (Secondary): variant="floating" level="2"
    • Level 3 (Tertiary): variant="compact" OR variant="floating" level="3"
  3. Router integration: Set routeIntegration=true and place <router-outlet /> OUTSIDE

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

❌ Placing <router-outlet /> inside <ux-tab> elements
❌ Creating custom tab SCSS instead of using ux-tabs
❌ Forgetting to set routeIntegration flag for route-based tabs
❌ Using floating variant in very tight spaces (use compact instead)

Migration Checklist

📈 Before/After Comparison

Code Structure

BEFORE (Manual Tabs):

Component TS: ~50 lines (tab state, click handlers)
Component HTML: ~30 lines (nav + buttons + @if sections)
Component SCSS: ~80 lines (tab container, buttons, active states)
Total: ~160 lines per component

AFTER (UX-Tabs):

Component TS: ~10 lines (import, add to imports array)
Component HTML: ~15 lines (<ux-tabs> + <ux-tab> elements)
Component SCSS: ~5 lines (content wrapper only)
Total: ~30 lines per component

Reduction: 81% less code per component with tabs
