Platform Builder Overhaul — Progress Report
Sessions: 150, 154, 155, 156 Date: February 26-28, 2026 Branch: session-150 → session-157 Status: Core pipeline complete, editing tools functional, 78 tests passing
What This Work Is About (Non-Technical Summary)
GoGrab Space lets users build custom digital platforms (like a restaurant management system, an e-commerce store, or a fitness tracker) using AI. The user describes what they want, and the system generates it.
The problem: When the AI generated a platform, the result was in a format that our editing tools couldn't read. It was like getting a document in a language the editor doesn't speak. Users could generate platforms but couldn't modify them afterward.
What we fixed: We rebuilt the generation pipeline so that every piece of the generated platform — the layout, the pages, the navigation, the widgets — uses the exact same format that our editing tools already understand. Now when a user generates a "Restaurant Management" platform, they can immediately click into any page and drag widgets around, change the layout, modify forms, and customize everything.
Timeline of Changes
Session 150 — The Foundation (Feb 26)
What changed: Built the core pipeline that transforms AI output into editable platform content.
Why it matters: Before this, the AI produced a "manifest" (a list of module names and descriptions). After this, the AI produces real pages with real buttons, tables, forms, and cards that look and work exactly like pages built by hand.
Key deliverables:
- PlatformBlueprint model — A new data contract that ties together the shell (outer frame), pages (content), and navigation (menus) into one package
- ShellGeneratorService — Automatically picks the right layout for the platform type (admin apps get a dashboard layout, blogs get a two-column layout, simple sites get a header-footer layout)
- PageContentGeneratorService — Creates real pages with real widgets. A "User Management" module gets a table with columns, an "Add User" button, and sample data. A "Dashboard" module gets stat cards and summary tables.
- PlatformPipelineService — Orchestrates the whole process: shell first, then pages, then navigation
- 40 unit tests covering template selection, page type inference, and widget generation
Bugs found and fixed:
- Pages were being saved to a wrong API endpoint (
/pagesinstead of/space-pages) — this meant generated pages were never actually stored in the database since Session 53 - Page-builder was silently losing data when loading pages (metadata fields, grid layout settings, and nested widget children were all dropped)
- Layout-builder's
createLayout()method had a side effect that would overwrite whatever the user was editing
Session 154 — Convergence Loop + Vitto Orchestration (Feb 27)
What changed: Added quality validation and gave Vitto (our AI agent) control over the generation process.
Why it matters: Before this, generated output went directly to the user with zero checking. A page could have empty widgets, missing titles, or placeholder text like "TODO" and nobody would catch it. Now, every generated page is validated against 25+ rules, and if errors are found, the AI automatically fixes them.
Key deliverables:
- BlueprintValidatorService — Checks every widget, every page, every config. Catches empty configs, missing required fields, invalid widget types, placeholder text ("TODO", "Coming soon")
- ConvergenceLoopService — If validation finds errors, it sends them to Claude (our AI) with a repair prompt. Claude fixes the issues, and we validate again. This repeats up to 15 times until everything is clean (or we detect we're stuck)
- Vitto Platform Generation endpoint — Vitto now has its own generation endpoint (
POST /module-generation/platform/generate) that orchestrates the full process: analyze the request → plan the modules → generate each module → verify the result - 30 validator tests + 8 convergence loop tests
Session 155 — Deployment History + Infrastructure (Feb 27)
What changed: Incorporated deployment tracking and infrastructure improvements from the integration branch.
Session 156 — User Memory + Documentation (Feb 28)
What changed: Made Vitto remember what it knows about each user and use that knowledge when generating platforms.
Why it matters: Before this, every generation started from scratch — Vitto didn't know if the user was a senior developer who prefers complex dashboards or a small business owner who needs simple pages. Now, Vitto recalls user preferences, skills, and past interaction patterns to personalize the generation.
Key deliverables:
- User context injection — Vitto's phase executor now loads user knowledge (preferences, skills, working patterns) and injects it into every AI prompt. The system uses "cognitive load budgeting" — simple tasks get 200 tokens of user context, complex tasks get 1,000 tokens
- User fact persistence — After completing a task, Vitto records what it learned about the user (e.g., "this user successfully builds Angular modules" → skill inference). These facts persist across sessions
- Edit Layout button — Added "Edit Shell Layout" button to the platform summary screen, navigating directly to the layout editor
- Convergence repair wired to LLM — The validation loop now actually calls Claude to fix errors (previously it only detected them)
- Deleted
structure-managementlibrary — 5,661 lines of orphaned code with zero consumers, removed cleanly - 78 total tests passing across all test suites
What Works Now (End-to-End Flow)
1. User types "Build me a restaurant management platform"
↓
2. Vitto analyzes the request (using user's preferences + past patterns)
↓
3. AI decomposes into modules: Menu Management, Order Tracking, Dashboard, Settings
↓
4. For each module, AI generates real pages with real widgets:
- Menu Management → table with columns (Name, Price, Category) + "Add Item" button
- Order Tracking → table with columns (OrderID, Status, Total) + stat cards
- Dashboard → 4 stat cards (Total, Active, New Today, Growth) + summary table
- Settings → form with text inputs + save button
↓
5. Convergence loop validates all pages:
- Every widget has a complete config (no empty {})
- Every heading has text, every button has a label
- No placeholder text (TODO, Coming soon)
- If errors found → AI fixes them → re-validate → repeat
↓
6. Shell layout selected (restaurant with 4 modules → split-sidebar)
↓
7. Pages saved to database via correct API endpoint (/space-pages)
↓
8. User sees platform summary with 5 action buttons:
- Deploy to Universe → adds modules to the canvas
- Refine in Workbench → 6-step module editing (entities, actions, UI, deploy)
- Open in Architect → 3D visualization of platform structure
- Edit Shell Layout → change the platform's navigation and page structure
- Edit Module → click any module to customize it
↓
9. Inside editing tools, everything works:
- Page Builder: drag-drop widgets, change properties, responsive design
- Flow Engine: visual flow builder for business logic
- Modularity Workbench: edit entities, actions, embeddable components
- Layout Builder: change the shell template (sidebar → dashboard → header-footer)

What's Next
Near-term (next 1-2 sessions)
- End-to-end test with live backends — Start all 3 backends, generate a platform, verify the full flow from vibe-universe through page-builder editing
- Prompt quality iteration — Test the rewritten implement.prompt.md against real generation and tune based on output quality
- Frontend Vitto routing — Switch vibe-universe to call Vitto's platform/generate endpoint instead of backend-ai-api's workflow/start
Medium-term (3-5 sessions)
- Blueprint → deployable code — Build BlueprintToCodeService that takes a PlatformBlueprint and generates a minimal Angular app for Cloudflare deployment
- Template-specific prompts — Add prompt overrides for CRUD, dashboard, analytics, e-commerce templates
- space-map-lib → universe-map migration — Port constellation view and analytics
Long-term
- Team memory sharing — Vitto shares high-confidence memories across team members (shareLevel: 'team')
- Cross-space user continuity — Vitto remembers user skills and preferences across all their spaces
- Full gmodules1 convergence — Port the compile-check convergence loop for code-based generation (not just widget validation)
