Session 19.1 - Module Persistence Introduction

Starting session 19.1 focused on fixing module persistence and MongoDB sync

Session 19.1: Module Persistence & MongoDB Sync

Root Cause Analysis

Page Reload Data Loss

Issue: When navigating to:

http://localhost:5200/space/chrome-space-1/modularity/workbench/fitness-management-1767058598901

The module appears in the list but shows 0 entities, 0 actions, 0% complete.

Root Cause Hypothesis:

  1. ModuleContext created but not properly saved to Flash Storage
  2. updateContext() called but not persisted
  3. Navigation happens before save completes

Implementation Plan

Phase 1: Verify Flash Persistence

  1. Check if ModuleContext is being saved:
// In ModuleContextService
this.flashPersist.set(`module:${moduleId}`, context);
  1. Add logging to trace save operations

  2. Verify IndexedDB has the data after create

Phase 2: Fix Save Timing

  1. Ensure await is used before navigation:
await firstValueFrom(this.moduleContext.createModule(...));
await this.flashPersist.flush(); // Force persist
this.router.navigate([...]);

Phase 3: MongoDB Sync

  1. After local save succeeds, queue backend sync
  2. Use RealtimeSyncService pattern
  3. Save full module context to space_modules

Files to Investigate

  1. libs/libs-structural/modularity-lib/src/lib/services/module-context.service.ts
  2. libs/libs-structural/vibe-universe/src/lib/components/vibe-universe-generator/vibe-universe-generator.component.ts
  3. libs/libs-foundational/storage-system/src/lib/flash-persistence.service.ts

Next Step: Read ModuleContextService to understand current persistence mechanism.
