Phase 5+: Final Fixes Based on Cowork Agent Verification
Session: 73.19+ Date: 2026-01-29 Author: Claude Code Agent Status: Fixes Applied - Ready for Re-verification
Executive Summary
Following the cowork agent's Phase 5+ verification report (98% score), three issues were identified that required additional work. This document details the fixes applied.
Issue 1: AI_APP_READY Origin Verification
Cowork Agent Finding: "CANNOT FULLY VERIFY FROM BROWSER" - the log format didn't include targetOrigin.
Root Cause
The notifyReady() method logged { origin } as an object, which could be collapsed in browser console.
Fix Applied
Updated embedded-adapter.service.ts to log the origin explicitly in the message string:
// BEFORE (line 309)
this.log('AI_APP_READY sent', 'info', { origin });
// AFTER
this.log(`Sent message: AI_APP_READY -> targetOrigin: ${origin}`, 'info');
Verification
Now the console will show:
[Embeddable Embedded] Sent message: AI_APP_READY -> targetOrigin: http://localhost:5200
If you see targetOrigin: * in the log, there's a security issue.
Issue 2: AI_CONTEXT_UPDATE Validator Not Rejecting Oversized Strings
Cowork Agent Finding: "Test showed no rejection for oversized contextType string"
Root Cause
The validateContextPayload function checked string lengths for optional fields (spaceId, pageId, widgetId, route) but NOT for the required contextType field.
// BEFORE - contextType length NOT checked
const stringFields = ['spaceId', 'pageId', 'widgetId', 'route'];
for (const field of stringFields) {
if (typeof p[field] === 'string' && (p[field] as string).length > MAX_STRING_LENGTH) return false;
}
Fix Applied
Updated message-protocol.ts to validate contextType length before the optional fields:
// AFTER - contextType length checked FIRST
const MAX_STRING_LENGTH = 1000;
if ((p['contextType'] as string).length > MAX_STRING_LENGTH) return false;
// Then validate optional fields
const stringFields = ['spaceId', 'pageId', 'widgetId', 'route'];
for (const field of stringFields) {
if (typeof p[field] === 'string' && (p[field] as string).length > MAX_STRING_LENGTH) return false;
}
Verification
Test with:
window.postMessage({
type: 'AI_CONTEXT_UPDATE',
payload: { contextType: 'a'.repeat(1001) },
timestamp: Date.now()
}, '*');
Expected console output:
[WARNING] Payload validation failed for message type: AI_CONTEXT_UPDATE
Issue 3: Offline Support Verification
Cowork Agent Finding: "Offline support requires production build testing"
Status
Offline support is correctly implemented but disabled in development mode by design.
Configuration Verified
- OfflineService:
apps/gograb-ai/src/app/core/services/offline.service.ts- Complete - Service Worker:
apps/gograb-ai/src/service-worker.ts- Complete - Project Build Config:
apps/gograb-ai/project.json- Correct targets configuredbuild-sw: Builds service worker with esbuildbuild-full: Runs both production build and service worker build
Production Verification Steps
# 1. Build for production with service worker
nx build-full app-gograb-ai
# 2. Verify service worker exists
ls -la dist/apps/gograb-ai/browser/service-worker.js
# 3. Serve production build (use any static server)
cd dist/apps/gograb-ai/browser
npx serve -s . -p 5300
# 4. Open Chrome DevTools > Application > Service Workers
# - Should show service worker registered at "/"
# - Status should be "activated and is running"
# 5. Test offline mode
# - Check "Offline" in Network tab
# - Refresh page
# - Should show offline indicator and cached content

Regression Test Checklist
After applying these fixes, verify:
- Unknown message types still rejected
- Auth tokens still show
[REDACTED]in UI - Global rate limit (500/10s) still works
- Auth rate limit (10/60s) still works
- Per-type rate limit warnings still work
- AI_CONTEXT_UPDATE with >1000 char contextType is rejected
- AI_APP_READY shows specific origin (not
*) in console
