Handoff: Multi-Agent Dashboard UI Testing
From: Claude Code (Session 75) To: Cowork Agent (Browser Testing) Date: 2026-01-30 Priority: High Type: UI/UX Testing & Validation
Summary
The Multi-Agent Dashboard library has been created and the build is passing. The UI needs comprehensive browser testing to validate all components render correctly and interact properly with the backend.
Prerequisites
Before testing the dashboard:
Backend must be running:
cd /Users/fguijarro/developer/repos/editor2 pnpm serve:ai-apiBackend should start on port 3001.
Frontend must be running:
cd /Users/fguijarro/developer/repos/editor2 pnpm serve:spaceFrontend should start on port 5200.
MongoDB should have the agent databases available (ai-agents-dev)
Test Location
URL: http://localhost:5200/system/agent-control-center
This route loads the MultiAgentDashboardComponent from @libs-ai/multi-agent-dashboard.
Testing Tasks
Task 1: Page Load Verification
Steps:
- Navigate to
http://localhost:5200/system/agent-control-center - Wait for page to fully load (watch for loading spinners)
- Document what appears on screen
Expected Results:
- Page should load without JavaScript errors
- Dashboard container should be visible
- Session header should display at top
- Three main panels: Agents Grid, Handoff Kanban, Activity Stream
Report Format:
- Screenshot of loaded page
- Any console errors (DevTools > Console)
- Missing elements or broken layouts
Task 2: WebSocket Connection Status
Steps:
- Open DevTools > Network tab
- Filter by "WS" (WebSocket)
- Look for connections to
localhost:3001 - Check connection status indicator on dashboard
Expected Results:
- WebSocket should connect to either
/mcp-stream(Socket.io) or/ws(native) - Connection indicator should show green when connected
- If offline, should show red/yellow indicator
Report Format:
- Screenshot of Network tab WS connections
- Status of connection indicator
- Any connection errors
Task 3: Agent Grid Component
Steps:
- Look for "Connected Agents" section
- Note what agents appear (if any)
- Click on agent cards if available
- Check for hover states
Expected Results:
- Grid layout should be responsive
- Each agent card should show: name, platform, status, last seen
- Cards should have hover effect
- Clicking should trigger agent details
Report Format:
- Screenshot of agent grid
- Number of agents displayed
- Any rendering issues
Task 4: Handoff Kanban Component
Steps:
- Look for "Handoffs" section
- Check for kanban columns: Pending, In Progress, Completed
- If handoffs exist, verify cards display correctly
- Try drag-and-drop if handoffs are available
Expected Results:
- Three columns visible (Pending, In Progress, Completed)
- Handoff cards show: summary, priority badge, agent info, timestamps
- Empty states should have placeholder message
- Drag-and-drop should be possible (if CDK drag-drop enabled)
Report Format:
- Screenshot of kanban board
- Number of handoffs per column
- Drag-drop functionality status
Task 5: Activity Stream Component
Steps:
- Look for "Activity" panel/tab
- Switch to Activity view if tabbed
- Check for real-time event display
- Note event types and formatting
Expected Results:
- Activity stream shows timestamped events
- Events include: agent connections, handoffs, status changes
- Should auto-scroll to new events
- Empty state if no recent activity
Report Format:
- Screenshot of activity stream
- Sample events if any
- Real-time update behavior
Task 6: Session Header Component
Steps:
- Check header at top of dashboard
- Verify session info display
- Look for control buttons (Refresh, Create Handoff, etc.)
- Test button interactions
Expected Results:
- Session number displayed (should show 75)
- Workspace name (should show "editor2")
- Refresh button should reload data
- "Create Handoff" button should open dialog
Report Format:
- Screenshot of header
- Button functionality status
- Session info accuracy
Task 7: Responsive Design
Steps:
- Open DevTools > Toggle device toolbar
- Test at 1920px (desktop)
- Test at 1280px (laptop)
- Test at 768px (tablet)
- Test at 375px (mobile)
Expected Results:
- All breakpoints should have usable layout
- Kanban may collapse to vertical on mobile
- No horizontal overflow
- Touch-friendly on mobile
Report Format:
- Screenshots at each breakpoint
- Layout issues found
- Usability concerns
Task 8: Create Handoff Dialog (if available)
Steps:
- Click "Create Handoff" button (if exists)
- Check if dialog/modal opens
- Fill out form fields
- Attempt submission
Expected Results:
- Modal should open with overlay
- Form fields: summary, description, target agent type, priority
- Validation should work
- Successful creation should update kanban
Report Format:
- Screenshot of create dialog
- Form field list
- Validation behavior
- Submission result
Console/Network Monitoring
Throughout all tests, monitor:
Browser Console (F12 > Console):
- JavaScript errors (red)
- Warnings (yellow)
- Angular errors
Network Tab (F12 > Network):
- Failed HTTP requests (red)
- WebSocket messages
- API calls to
/ai-api/*

Success Criteria
Testing is complete when:
- All 8 tasks have been executed
- Screenshots provided for each section
- Any bugs documented with template
- Console errors captured and reported
- Overall usability assessment provided
Notes for Cowork Agent
- The backend MUST be running for WebSocket to connect
- If no agents appear, it's normal - no MCP clients are connected yet
- If no handoffs appear, you can create one using the dialog (if implemented)
- The dashboard is designed to show real-time updates - keep it open while testing
- Focus on rendering correctness and obvious UX issues
