Test Infrastructure
Mocking Strategy
- Global fetch mock: All HTTP requests are mocked using Jest's
mockFetch - WebSocket mock:
realtimeClientmethods are mocked for WebSocket testing - Session mock: Session detector returns consistent test values
- Agent identity mock: Fixed agent ID for consistent test assertions
Test Helpers
// Create mock HTTP response
function createMockResponse<T>(data: T, ok = true, status = 200): Response
// Reset all mocks between tests
function resetMocks(): void
Key Testing Patterns
- Happy Path First: Each test suite starts with successful workflow tests
- Error Scenarios: Comprehensive error testing for each category
- Edge Cases: Unicode, special characters, concurrent requests
- Fallback Verification: Ensure offline queue works when API fails
Future Test Improvements
- Integration Tests: Add tests that connect to real backend (separate test environment)
- Performance Tests: Benchmark RPC latency and throughput
- Load Tests: Simulate multiple concurrent agents
- Chaos Tests: Random network failures, server restarts
- Snapshot Tests: Capture expected response structures
